      shipping

going through all the figures with shipping , and sorting out our dog,

has anyone shipped their belongings and not bothered to get insurance, or is it possible to ship without insurance, although were bringing all our things, there's nothing that i'd be heartbroken about if the boat sank, apart from past & present family photos, which they couldnt replace anyway, the insurance really boosts up the price, any advice would be a great help

Jezz, wouldn't even consider not having insurance. It would cost more to replace all of your belongings nestled at the bottom of the ocean, than the cost of the insurance. As they say, it pays to be insured.

I know it's tempting when trying reduce expenditure for the move, but it could be costly.

      Good luck!

Hi we used Letton Percival and they were by far the cheapest around only have a premium of 2.5 or 2.4% I think when most of the majors charge around 3.5%
The chap was very helpful sorted it all out electronically

      Hope this helps

I second that. We had to claim for a lot of damage. I also know of someone who had to claim over $10,000. Don't take the risk.
