      VISA at last!!!!

      Hello everyone - am THRILLED to say that I was granted my permanent residency today!!! :) :) :)

      The last of my paperwork was my foreign police clearance which my agent sent to my case officer on Monday, visa granted one day later, and only 2 months after I got my CO..... it's been 2 years, 11 months and 4 days since I lodged my application! I think my patience finally paid off!!!!!!!!!


      Soooooo excited! Hope to leave the UK mid June, and get to Adelaide in September... so much to do! :)

      Maeri-Anne - 176 Family Sponsored visa lodged 27 Feb 2009. Switched to SA State Sponsorship - SS lodged 18 Oct 2011. SS approved 1 Dec 2011. CO allocated 13 Dec 2011. Medical done 23 Dec 2011. UK Police check received 31 Dec 2011. South African Police Clearance received 30 Jan 2012. VISA GRANTED 31 JAN 2012!!!!

      I know the feeling, as we got ours on the 27th...still got a big grin now :)

      Yes alot of research on things to do....things not to forget etc....we are going to validate in june
      Applied ACS - 8th November 2010 - 262113 (System Administrator) Positive Assesment 24th March 2011 - SA - Docs Recieved -14th April - Approved 12th May - 14th May 2011 Applied 4 Visa 176 -CO - 24th 2011 May - Medicals Completed - 2nd June 2011- Police Checks Sent - 10th June 2011 - Visa Granted 27th Feb 2012

      Offer accepted on house 14/01/12. Flights booked 01/02/12!!! Russell departs for Adelaide 04/03/12. Lyn & William depart for Adelaide 24/03/12. Finally arrived and living in Glenelg 27/03/12.

      Applied for 176 visa 23/03/2011 C/O 19/04/2011. Meds done 18/05/2011 Police Checks sent 16/05/2011. Visa Granted 26/05/2011. Flights Booked 12/01/2012.

      Congratulations, Mezzi!! Such a great feeling after all the nail-biting weeks/months/years (?) of never-quite knowing what the outcome will be! We got our visas last month while in Adelaide (we'd gone there to apply onshore for our third RRVs after long absence from Oz) and arrived back in England two weeks ago. We're still in a state of 'can't-believe-we-got-it!' and way up on Cloud Nine.

      So we definitely know how you feel! Enjoy the moment and look forward to what's ahead! It was all worth it in the end (even tho your bank account will no doubt not be feeling as buoyant as you do!), without a doubt.
