G'day

Just a note about recruitment agencies in Adelaide: register your details with them, and they will most likely bombard you! There is a lot of work in Adelaide for people in the IT field. There are also jobs available all across Adelaide, so you don't have to work in the city if you don't want to.

I would like to recommend the IT department of Icon Recruitment, they seem to be very proactive in finding jobs and giving information.

I know the Adelaide (or is that Australian?) Submarine Corporation at Outer Harbour (northern suburbs) have been recruiting lately for IT specialists (eg project managers, BA's and programmers). May be worth looking into that - they are expanding hugely and receiving unprecedented levels of Aust funding.

Good luck!

i have sent my CV to the normal IT Agencies with not even an acknowledgement that they have seen it!!! hope the others are a wee bit more receptive.

Graham,

Just keep bugging them!

Another popular one is Hays Recruitment.

Cheers,

There is IT work in Adelaide but beware alot of it is defence based and needs security clearance which in turn needs citizenship.

Hi Gragrax, looks as though your still in the UK. My daughter used to work in recruitment in Adelaide and says that if you don't yet have an entry date, they don't seem to want to know. I've sent a couple of CV's off along with requests for an informal interview when visiting earlier this year - nothing! Soon as you have a date though, they'll swamp you

Thanks for the info guys.

depending on the work situation here, we are looking at a reccie in October. I will try to arrange some interviews then and let you know what happens.

Thanks for the lead Guvnor, does your daughter still work in Adelaide recruitment?

Hi Graxgrax2,

I am in the same situation. I have applied to be a secondary application on my girlfriends granted 457 Long Stay Temporary Business Visa. I so hope I get it!

I currently work as a Business Analyst within Investment Banking Technology. I have 2 years experience so I am hoping this skill will be transferable to an employer in Adelaide.

You seem to be in a better position than me as I may have to go on a holiday visa and see if

Good luck with your search.

Welcom to the PIA, I am sure someone can help you but I have no idea what all those letters mean, try www.seek.com.au (http://www.seek.com.au) and www.careerone.com.au (http://www.careerone.com.au) these are job websites, also on www.yellowpages.com.au (http://www.yellowpages.com.au) you will find employment agencies.
