No ideas on actual vacancies but the food and hospitality trade here is thriving.
I'm sure there will be work available, not sure about wages though.

Every saturday is careers day in The Advertisern ewspaper and there are usually plenty of chef's vacancies, especially approaching the summer months. Try www.Careerone.co.au (http://www.Careerone.co.au). Hope that helps
