Hiya
We're in Solihull. We've just sent our meds & PC's off so hope to have an answer so that we can go June/July. Are you anywhere near here? Wouldn't say no to meeting up but we're getting married in 8 weeks (and there's so much to do...), so probably best for us after that...let us know if you do want to arrange something.

Hi All,
We are in Brierley Hill, and would love to meet up with anyone who is currently going through the same stress as us. We have just got through the skills assessment and are about to send off to our agent the SA sponsorship, so still a long way to go and hoping to go towards the end of the year.
Please advise the best time and place and we will be there.
Thanks

Thanks for the "good luck" msgs!
I'll keep looking in on this and as lazymazy suggests lets wait a couple of weeks and then get together - maybe somewhere in/near Bromsgrove would be handy for most folks as a halfway point?

Hi all,
We are in Burton on trent so not a million miles from west mids. We wouldn't mind a jaunt up the A38, please keep us in mind for anything you organise.
Thanks, hope to see you soon.

stay glued and see you all soon

That date in April works for us, our oldest son is having an operation on his shoulder in a few weeks, but he'll be out of plaster by then. Daytime would be better for us too as the kids will be tagging along (hope thats alright :) ).

hello there all you midlanders - we too would love to join you all in a meet up... our visas are through and we activated them in November on a reccy trip - hope to be out there for real in October. New baby due in 6 weeks but if you all get chance to meet up before then, it'd be great to be involved. We're in Worcester, so Bromsgrove is fine by us :D

Hi
Saturday 21st April - sounds great - Daytime if great and definitely non-smoking. Will be bringing our two girls aged 10 and 7.
Bromsgrove is great for us, we dont know it well - so, can you suggest a meeting place?
Really looking forward to meeting others in similar circumstances to us.
We booked our flights yesterday - flying out on 15th August. Did originally want July, but the price was a few hundred pounds more and this way we can afford to have a nice bread in Singapore for 5 days before arriving in Adelaide.
Speak soon

hi everyone,
can someone surgest a good meeting place in b.grove. we may have to book or get part of the place cornered off, looks like we're gonna have a good turn out. not sure if any of you know the hilton hotel on the A38 just off jnk 4 M5? we were gonna call them to see if we could meet there( they have a large bar area) other than that not too sure of big pubs in that area where we could meet, can anyone help
Bex & Nick
11-02-2007, 04:53 PM
Hiya
There are a few pubs that I see when I go back to B'grove, although I haven't been to them for years:
The Marlbrook (on the A38 on right hand side just before you get to The Hilton);
The Guild, which looks quite big from the outside (opposite direction down the A38 towards Bromsgrove);
The Forest (it's a Harvester pub) which is at Junction 1 of the M42/A38.

hiya all, we've just been down to the marlbrook toby carvary on the A38 to have a look and find out if we can have our meet there. the pub is a fair size and we could fit up a corner quite well. they will not reserve the corner for us but said come back when it's a bit closer to the day and we'll try and sort something out for you. we were down there at 4pm and it wasn't that busy so we think it will be ideal unless anyone else can surgest somewhere else. the whole pub is non-smoking too. if you don't know it, it's between the M5 and M42 junctions on the A38. hope to see you soon

Hi everyone who are planning to meet up in the Midland.
My hubby & I would love to come too, with the two terrors of course. It sounds great, but not sure how long it would take for us to come from Sunderland.
It would however be great to chat to people in a similar situation to ourselves.
Not sure if everyone else is the same, but this Oz business is taking over our lives. We eat, breathe and sleep it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are people who are going to the meet up all from that area, or will people be travelling etc. Maybe I could pursuade other half to stay over as its near my birthday. Hee hee. :D

Worth it because no-one else seems to know how exciting or nerve racking the whole process is!!!

rang the marlbrook up last week and had a chat about the meet(to try and get the section reserved) they will not budge one bit  not sure what their reason is because we will be taking trade down there. anyway we will be down there about 2pm, to be sure to get the corner plot. 4pm maybe a bit late.how do you feel about that??

Hi, we've just found this site and it's great to find people moving to Adelaide, I thought every man and his dog were heading for Perth.
We are at the early stages and we are hopefully (waiting on one more reference) about to send off for our TRA.
We live in Stoke and if it's not too late, we'd love to meet up with everyone.
Would that be ok?

Hiya :-)
There are more than you think moving to Adelaide.
Mainly because it is still very affordable to live and buy property here.
Perth is much more expensive in housing but jobs seem to be better paid.
According to some figures quoted to me there are 14,500 UK arrivals here each year.
We certainly meet up with plenty of newbies :-)

Hey everyone.
Im so keen to do the midlands meet up but my Husband thinks its a long way for the day. i.e. 220 miles. I wanted to stay over but the place were meeting at only has room for maximum 3. (we have two girls, taking us to four).
Anyone else staying over, or got any recommendations for places to stay.
Im driving friends and family round the bend talking about Australia all the time (needless to say myself).

Hi All
Janes just pm'd me about this meet. I'm going to have a chat with OH, he usually works on a Saturday, but if we can sort it we will come along to (will confirm later).
Just a quick question, I would sort of like to bring my 2 boys along aged 10 & 6yrs (noticed 1 or 2 others bringing the kids). Is there ANYTHING for the kids to do, play area, park ???
If there isn't, like Jane, I may ask the in/out laws  to have them for the day.
Can someone post the address, agreed date & time please? Thanks :)
Hoping for our visa anytime, we have had a CO since 4th Dec (timeline below). Our agency have given him a little 'nudge' on Friday to chase up the application, fingers crossed 8)
