Hi all,
We are planning a two day break on Kangaroo Island when we are on our Adelaide recci in October.
Can anyone recommend places to stay, bearing in mind we will be with two children (6 & 3).
Thanks

HI Fiona and Rory
We have not yet been to Kang Island but would love to soon. Might be worth looking at the tourist info site (not sure of address) and getting some info from there. Obviously you need to book the crossing too. Good luck with it - will watch this thread for info ....

If only here for a recci with two small children would not waste time on kI just look arround all the suburbs where you think you would like to live meet up with a few people here and take the kids to see a few animals if you are going to live here you have plenty of time 4 kI you need to think of your kids they have traveled a long way.
all the best alan and laura taylor woodcroft.

Really good point Laura - they are plenty of other places to see wildlife whilst you are here. Save this trip for when you are here and can go over for a week or so.

Very good point, however . . .
if the recci does not go as expected and we decide not to move to OZ (which is still very much either way right now) then we will have missed out on something we would all have loved to have experienced.
Wish I could be more positive about it all, but, still so unsure.
Thanks for all the info, cheers Fi

hi you didn't say how long you are here for? when we came over to do a recci 12 years ago we went over and stayed for a couple of days it's a fantastic place but can be expensive to get to as you either have to fly or go be ferry (only one run by sealink at moment) in oct they might be doing some special offers I work at the visitors centre in mclaren vale as a volunteer will have a look for you on thurs in the meantime the web site is http://www.tourkangarooisland.com.au/ make sure you use the info centres while your here as they have lots of free info and maps of all areas -good luck!

Thanks for your help Wendy. We only plan to visit the Island for two nights as most of the time in Adelaide we want to get a feel for the city and suburbs. I'll look on the web-site later today. Cheers, Fiona
