Hi there
We're thinking of taking 6 month break to look around Adelaide and schools.
Can our 4 year old go to State school/private without a permanent visa?
Has anyone been in this situation?
Not too worried as I hear children don't start until 5 years anyway..
Thanks

Hiya
All the schools I have looked at over the internet dont take children until the term after their 5th birthday. If anyone knows different, it would be great to know which schools.

Hi No they don't start school till later here, I wouldn't worry too much they will learn far more in 'life skills' by coming and experiencing a new country!

Your little one could go to a kindy attached to a state school from the age of 4 for 4 sessions a week. Dawn went to Seaford Kindy and goes to full time in October as she has just turned 5 - we are on an SIR495 which is a temp visa and got her in no problems. Cost $50 per term :jiggy:

Been thinking about this??, ...............if my lil sister comes out for a long visit (she's 9 ) could she go to school, (would we have to pay private) or would she need a residents visa. ?????????
Perhaps a good person to seek some advice on is Muppetbro who works in the schools in Adelaide so may be able to offer the advice or guidance about if and what is possible. Not sure of any other teachers or school related people who will know
