Goverment rental [Archive] - Poms In Adelaide

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your replies. Just to let everyone know I had a lovely suprise on my birthday this morning. I received an e-mail granting us a meet & greet and a goverment rental upon our arrival. Im so relieved, as we have not sold our home here, due to the market being at almost a standstill. So a big time concern, but this has really helped.
If anyone else has used this service, what should we expect?:v_SPIN:

Congrats on getting the OAA - at least you now have somewhere to stay when you arrive :jiggy:

We did not get it but have been to a few that friends have stayed in - they are basic accommodation but give you a good base to start out at a very cheap price!

They normally supply everything you will need except bedding.

We had OAA when we arrived. It was very basic but did us a turn for a few weeks and was a very cheap base to look at the suburbs from.
It also gave us a great incentive to get out there and buy something quickly!:)

Hi Laura, that's great news!
I'm new to this forum but I thought I'd just congratulate you anyway! I'm guessing from your previous thread that you only applied for the government housing a matter of days ago? I've just requested an application for it too, as we arrive on the 29th. However, we leave the UK to go travelling next Monday (Panic!!) so I'm hoping that I will know either way before I go.
