Hi Lea! So jealous you know when your going, we're hoping to go in November, that is if we get a case office some time soon!! Myself, hubby and three kids can't wait. What part of Adelaide?
Not too sure but looking at the North East area.
Have friends in Adelaide already so thats why we chose it - also work for hubby there.
So frustrating to wait for DIMIA to get back to you isn't it!!

It's a real pain! We're not sure where yet, depends on schools when we get there, haven't found out if catchment areas apply. Don't think we're too bothered anyway, just want to be there!!

Hi
We are Lisa. Greg and Dawn. We decided to sign up with an agent in April and are applying for an SIR visa to Adelaide. We had our TRA acknowledged at the end of July and waiting on a yes or no :D
Hoping to make the move first half of next year.

Hi guys
Welcome to the site and good luck with the application. We applied for a 136 subclass skilled State Territory Nominated Independent visa and are planning to go to Adelaide. Just waiting for Case Officer and hopefully visa will follow soon after. It's all a waiting game and an allconsuming process, we live and sleep Oz!!

Hi all, my fiance and I are also waiting for a case officer to be assigned to us by the DIMIA for our SIR visa but we've only just put the application through to this stage we've been advised this can take up to 6 months before anyone picks up the file and they may request further info too!
We are a little nervous as we do not know anyone in Adelaide  , do you know if there are any meetings between people looking to emigrate in the UK as I know it would seem a lot less nerve racking if we actually met people in the same boat? We have already been to emigration fayres etc but these were just full of employment/visa/removal agencies. :)

My name is Jackie, hubby's an electrician and on MODL. :D
TRA was successful and we are hoping to send the visa application back to our agents next week. :)
We have 3 children afed 16 (boy) 13 (girl) and 11 (boy). 16 year old doesn't want to move but will be joining us when we validate the visa's. I am hoping he will change his mind once he sees Adelaide.
Not too sure where we will settle but are hoping to get on arrival assistance.

Nice to see some new faces :D We have never been to Australia let alone Adelaide
We are keeping our fingers crossed to get out there for about April next year - although we have no idea on what suburb yet...just close to the beach hopefully.
Lisa
Probably shouldn't post this here BUT have a look at some of the other forums as well - AdelaideBrits is one also Go Matilda should find some like minded people there too. :D

Hi
We visited Brisbane, Sydney & the Gold Coast for 4 weeks in April 2006...............it was truly wonderful. We are restricted on the SIR495 to really go to Adelaide as my OH is a painter & decorator so therefore needs to be in / around a CBD for work.
I have done loads of research about SA & it sounds fantastic.
Theres not much in the UK for my 2 boys as they grow older, only 10 & 9 now so heading off down under to give them the best opps we can! :D :D
My friends lives in Sydney as visits SA regularly on business. She thinks its beautiful & has a lot to offer families. Says it all for me........... :D
Angela (happy, happy as TRA was positive result arrived last Monday :D :D )

Hi every one,
My name is Hayley, we have every thing complete after 2 years and 6 months, we have a 136 visa Cameron my partner is a self employed joiner so this made it a lot more hassle than if he had been employed. We could have gone any where but after lots research and pestering friends that live in perth and brisbane we decided that adelaide was for us,we have never been to oz!!!. We have 2 daughters age 12 and 13 who are not too keen to say the least.Cameron has already made contact with quite a few joinery companys and made quite a few friends in the process one family even offering to pick us up at the airport and put us up!!He has also joined the south australian shooters club and made even more friends there and they all seem to be so nice asking us to look them up when we get there.[cameron target shoots and making sure he could take his guns was the first thing he did]Well we fly out on the 1st of jan and im pretty excited but bloody scared at the same time, but as a little old lady i used to work with said you are here for a good time not a long time, so im going to have a good time!
God what a lot typing ive done ,i know what people mean at work now when they ask me if i have gills cause i dont stop for a breath !
bye for now, Hayls
