Hi, does anyone know if WHEAT FREE Products can be purchased in Adelaide or do they have to be prescribed by the doctor?:D

A friend of mine here is gluten intollerant and you can buy gluten free food in the super markets although not a large choice.

Contact South Australia coeliac society they will have lots of imformation and Adelaide has a local group. My daughter and partner are both Coeliacs (gluten intolerant) they currently get items on perscription but i think we will have to pay in oz.

Hi Jill,
Yes I went on the local coeliac site and it seems that they do a lot socially which is good because our local group here in Sheffield isn't very proactive!
We normally go to the York food fayre in May which is good.
Arnotts gluten free biscuits are made in Adelaide!

just checked on coeliac society of south Aus web site, isnt a support group in Adelaide but a lot of the socialising seems to take place there! We will have to set our own up in Adelaide.
There are groups in port lincoln, victor harbour and fleur pens and somewhere else!
