we were wondering if anyone that is already resident in adelaide is familiar with the universitie rules of entitlement, for example we have just been granted our perminent residents visas, and should be landing in oz around july or augest time. and our eldest daughter is looking to enrol in the universitie of adelaide on an english course. now we expect that we will have to pay but she must be entitled to some form of student loan of some description. anybody out there with any info, :err:

There are loans for low income students I think, but you have to be a citizen to get these. It all changed unfortunately in 2004.
Here is a useful website http://www.goingtouni.gov.au/ .
Most uni students get part time work to give them money, either waitressing, in supermarkets, in bars etc.

No - you will have to pay the fees up front in full by the census date - which is usually around week 3 of each semester (there are 2 semesters per year).
As permanent residents you are eligible for commonwealth supported places - which means that you don't need to pay the international fees which are huge!
There are no student loans (HECS) etc until you become a citizen - depending on the course, you would expect to pay approx. $7500 a year.
