Apart from the obvious one in King William Road. Are there any other hospitals, maybe in the suburbs or beyond, that have childrens wards? This is a two fold question. We have children but as Tracey is a childrens nurse and we are looking into all options as to location.
Thanks
Pete

Thanks everyone for the replys. We really fancy going south of Adelaide but are tied by Tracey's work. Flinders looks like the key to living south of the city we were looking for. Thanks again for all posters. Very much appreciated.

Cant wait to put faces to names in August at the meet up. Especially Pete and Graham who seem to be "trouble makers" hehe.
I hope you live up to our expectations.
Not going to tell you what the images I have of you are. Will just tell you when we all meet.:cool:

We have just received a load of papers, cuttings etc from supermarket flyers, realestate info, career and employments pages etc from our friend in Adelaide, if you PM me the type of of job Tracey would apply for - get confused with all the letters etc after nurses job adverts - I will Pm you the adverts etc - some give locations but not many give away salaries. There was about 4 pages of jobs advertised for Nurses.

Thanks again

Hi Pete
The Flinders Hospital near Flagstaff Hill looked really nice when we drove past it on several occasions last week. I know Noarlunga also has a hospital. They have just announced that they are going to build a big new hospital to replace the Royal Adelaide, called the Marjorie Jackson-Nelson Hospital (and boy, is that name choice controversial....)
Goo luck.
Deena :)

Marjorie Jackson-Nelson Hospital (and boy, is that name choice controversial....)
Just googled her and she seems an ok type to be honoured in this way. She must have upset a few people in her time as governor.
Thanks for that Deena:D

Have a look at Flinders Medical Centre. Unlike the Women's and Children's Hospital it is out of town so access and housing is more affordable. You can afford to live near to work on a nurse's wage. You also won't be battling any rush hour traffic. They have several children's wards and a highly regarded A&E with specialist paediatric cubicles. Also have a neonatal and maternity unit. A friend's son who is a medical student was looking for an Aussie A&E placement and was told Adelaide had some of the best A&E suites. I also used to work there. Hope this is of help.
Other hospitals to look at are Lyell McEwin or Modbury (North), Queen Elizabeth (West). All have same logistal advantages over Women's and Children's.
Goodluck!
