Would someone moving over here be willing to please bring me a portable calor gas heater? something like these http://www.mobilegas.co.uk/mobileheater/index.htm doesn't have to be exact but along these lines.

I've looked just about everywhere for one here but can't find anything remotely similar unless someone on PIA knows of anywhere I could get one.

It gets quite chilly here in winter and we only have one heater (non portable) in the family room and my office gets awfully cold.

We are in New Zealand so i can only guess in helping you, the best time for you to try/look at purchasing a gas fire is the begining of the autum/winter as they get put away (over here they do). Go to K-mart or you do have a shop called the Warehouse, we got ours from thier a year ago now. Also if you have a barbie on gas you can use the gas bottle for both the heater and barbie, hope i have helped you as i understand how cold it gets with no CENTRAL HEATING, oh how i do miss central heating.
