Nice one Ian.
I reckon we should arrange a round or two before people leave. Perhaps we could sort out a course somewhere in the middle. Wet the Flaming Galah's head so to speak. ;)

Pete,
The or two sounds good to me, I am sure Graham and me would be up for at least a three ball somewhere in between.

Yo dudes
Fantastic work by all....well done and like to see the Gallah with flames comming out of the back though sure there's laws to stop you doing it to a real one :D.
Deb very kean to start in her role and is making a special trip to Sains tommorrow to pick out as many SA wines as she can carry.....might be some hours before you get the results :).
I think Wi golf is something to be enjoyed after the real golf has finished and the drinking has begun, just have to make sure the 'Playroom' is big enough to accomadate the wilder of the 'lady swings' :D
I had an idea thats what 'Flamin Gallah' meant so yes quite appropriate for us 'New Poms in Ad'
The thought of getting there even more exciting now !!
:)

As you are one of the first to get there you need to carry out the testing of local establishments in your role as competition secretary!

I like that idea. It reminds me of a certain 'buffalo club'. Nothing to do with buffaloes though. Members had to drink with their unfavoured hand. ie if you were right handed you had to drink with your left hand. If another 'buffalo' caught you drinking with your right hand then they would shout "BUFFALO" and you had to finish your current drink in one and buy another round.
Happy days.

Graham,
" you will make Hastings sound worse than it already is now, hard i know! (not everybody carries their winkles about!)
Will have to think hard about hat to carry round
a) strimmer for the rough!
b) floating golf ball for the water!
c) bucket for the sand!
d)axe for the trees
e) and a heart monitor in case it goes in!

I googled images of flaming gallahs and come across an out line. I made a few changes coloured it in and re did the flames. So its quite different from the original. I don't think it was copyrighted anyway so I'm sure we are safe.

Yo Flamin Gallah dudes
Well if you want to 'play around' this way theres quite a few nice courses ,depending how posh you want to get, Letchworth being the poshest but only open to non memebers once a week with handicap cert etc and think you have to drive at least a 5 series :(.
The one I last played at is called Mount Pleasant, it's an established 9 hole that they've doubled up on and has a small but friendly bar etc and good for us high handicapers and is quite easy to get to from the A1.

Take a look and let me know what you think.....hows them wonderful logos going ?

Well nice to know the Lincolnshire memeber is easy ;) so is the Hertfordshire one so its up to you Southerners to give me a time and I'll book as close as I can....thinking a morning start will give us time for a swiftie at lunchtime before tackling the back 9 :D.
Anyway sorry I wasn't there to answer last night, had an early (4am) start and was cream crackered but bright eyed and bushy tailed now,in fact we went down to London Village today to open an account with The Commonwealth Bank so another worry to cross off the list.....just need to find somewhere to stay when we get there.

Boys,
It's taken me half an hour to trawl through 9 (yes NINE!) pages of this - to finally get a date and tee time - I have to say I agree with Jacs and Tracey, what you needed was a woman as fixtures secretary.......something you overlooked in your rush to hand out job and titles! Maybe you did have one, but it's been so long since I started reaing this thread I have lost the will to live! Seriously though, John would love to have joined you for the inaugral game but sadly we will be in Singapore next Saturday en route to Adelaide. Perhaps the next game? He work shifts too so can be difficult - I am nagging him to get on the forum but he's either working or trying to arrange to play golf - takes ages, must be a man thing!
As I've said before, not sure what his handicap is, he would say me no doubt!
Good luck with the inaugral game - may the best Galah win!

Deena :)
ps Thierry Who?
Deena,
Good luck with the move and i am sure once we are all out there more better organised games will happen!

Lets pray for a nice day though if its too wet there's always the bar...........:D
