...I just keep humming to myself.....trying to keep sane.
Been home 10 mins - already there are tears!!!!

Sarah - open the wine quick! - the sun has definitely gone down over the yard arm! Ha-ha can't remember what the sun looks like. It is sooooo depressing and I'm cold as well. I'm sooo fed up with the kids being stuck indoors. At least you won't have to go through this again next year!
Keep smiling - not long to go now ;)

Yep- the rain is officially RUBBISH, I think someone up there knows I was due for two summers this year and just thought Ha Ha :p.
Everytime there's a break in it I chuck the kids shoes on and send them out, one minute later they're back again:mad:.We are all going stir crazy. Cari your suggestion of a bottle of wine is duely noted and seconded by me.

It has been raining here but not like the uk. Got up this morning to drizzle and mist but now at lunchtime it is lovely and warm, blue skies and sun is shining ;) Love these aussie winters - today was forecast cloudy but this is our sky at the mo - so shows their is light at the end of the tunnel for those in uk.

Don't know whether you've made me feel better or worse though.
We finally got round to booking flights last night to come for a reccie on 23rd August so at least that is keeping me smiling.:D
Plan on putting the house on the market while we are away so I don't really want it to be too hot as for the next 7 weeks I will be finishing some decorating, trying to make the garden look nice and cleaning/tidying all in the hope of making a few more pounds.

Hi Tracy...yes, we are on a SIR495...took 4 months from when we put the application in....would have been quicker, but it was over christmas and we had to pay a £40k bond, which took about 3 weeks to sort out.

Hi
I've just read on another forum that Adelaide has a severe weather warning in place because of strong winds and abnormally high tides. They even said that parts of Glenelg were flooded. Seems like weather is weird just about everywhere at the moment!

Just like to add that this rain is making me purely miserable too.
Dont know if anyone else in the country experiencing the same thing, but when I wake and 6am the sun is cracking the pavements, then at 7.30 it goes away until around the same time at night.
So hence most of the day stuck indoor with two kids tearing the eyes out of each other, and me and steve looking purely Pi**** Off.
Like Steve says, most of the world of having global warming wheras England is going through the ICE AGE.

We are going to Illfracombe, Devon. Really looking forward to it, just hopes the weather picks up.
Our children love camping - to the point that when we went to Ibiza in May they just couldn't understand where we was going to put the tent!

Well it forcast rain for last weekend and we were going off for a couple of nights, we still picked up the kids from school on Friday.
But we cancelled Malham Cove (our fave see avatar pic) with the tent, and took the caravan to York instead.
A place called Goose Wood , its got a great adventure play ground, no pub/ club , but we take our own;)
We went into York on Saturday walked around the walls and went to the museum , had a buffet lunch at the Jumbo (yum yum)£5 for adults £3 for kids and it didnt rain once.
All weekend.
We came home Sunday afternoon, as we got to leeds it started throwing it down , when we got to Castleford (where we store the caravan) it started hail stoning!! big massive ones.We sat in the car for 20 mins till it stopped.
Once back home in Wakefield my mum said it had rained all weekend.
It forcast rain today but ive dried the washing outside.
Just wish they could get the forcast right once in a while!!

We are looking forward to the meet, though were taking the caravan instead of the tent, just incase, with it being like it is a lately.
Ralph has bought a big 4 foot Aussie flag , which hes going to fasten to a fishing rod thingy , and fly it high, so you'll know where we are, even if we dont know who you are....

We are thinking of doing a pre meet meet in the way of a BBQ on the Saturday Afternoon/evening on the campsite so the more camping the better.:D We will arrange details when we've worked it out nearer the time. I'm not camping but will be visiting the site as I live fairly local. I will look out for the flag and say "hi".

Just make sure that youve tested your tents , if there new, before the meet.
I remember years ago , B.K. (before kids) Ralph n me went to Gordale Scar in a new 2 man tent , and the heavens opened. The top seam somehow let the rain in and we spent the night with a bucket between us, catching the drips. From then on we have always taken a sheet of Visqueen (sp) (plastic sheeting) or an extra ground sheet , to fasten over the sleeping bit of the tent. Just incase.
For warned is for armed and all that!;)
