Travel insurance

For those who return to the UK for holidays, do you get travel insurance?

i got travel insurance because it was costing $15000 ish just for flights and i didn't want to lose that. Other times when it has just been me i got it just for a few days to cover the flight there, cos once you are there you are covered anyway for health.

It's a good idea and typically won't run more than $100 for a 2 to 3 week trip. I get it because it also has emergency medical and I need that to go to the US.

We got an extra credit card last year when we were going to the Gold Coast that, for an $80 annual fee, gives you free overseas travel insurance (for the family) and free excess cover insurance on hired cars. Well worth the money, have easily saved back the annual card cost. Can't remember offhand which bank it's with (I'm not allowed the card in my possession!!) but if you haven't already booked, worth looking into. (You need to use the card to pay for the travel to get the benefits)
