Place to stay on the Gold Coast

Hi

 

Does anyone know of a good place to stay on the Gold Coast near Movie world please.

 

We are going just for a family break - we have been looking at staying in Surfers but not sure how far away it is from parks etc...

Surfers is about 30 mins away from parks. Probably the best place to stay as there is more to do when you are not at the parks. Broadbeach (next one South is also very good and slightly cheaper, but only an extra 5 mins drive. I was up there a few weeks back on business and stayed at Mairi Comfort Inn and Suites, 2 bedroom apartment, clean tidy and reasonable, with underground secure parking. Will find them on google.

You can get a hire car to get you to the parks, or catch a bus. Seaworld is fairly close, but Movieworld is up the freeway a bit so you'd need some kind of transport.

We stayed here Sands Turtle Beach and Sands Mediterranean Resorts - The Official Resort Site - Book online and save - Gold Coast which was good for kids and not too far away from anywhere. There are lots of pools etc and not right on the strip. Flight Centre booked it all for us and managed to get a few nights for free.

There's a big shopping centre at Broadbeach with a bus station where you can get buses to all the 'Worlds' as well as Coolangatta Airport. I stayed across the road at broadbeach travel inn which was pretty good and has the added benefit of an Indian restaurant and takeaway next door, and a pub 2 doors down. :)

We stayed at broadbeach - it's not as packed as surfers paradise. Loved it! Stayed at Mantra Bay.

Broadbeach is lovely - quieter than Surfers but plenty there, everything there and some very nice restaurants. We stayed at the Beach Haven apartments which are in a great position www.bhaven.com.au. Kurrawa surf club is a great place for a meal, book a table and get a table on the balcony but beware the portions are huge.

Phoned them direct & they gave us an extra night free instead of having to pay for late check out & still worked out $50 less than booking online!!!!
