To go with my cake business I am looking at doing catering for childrens parties and I thought that you people could give suggestions as to what people want as food at kids parties. I am also starting to do slices ie caramel slices, hedgehog slices etc. As part of the childrens party catering I am going to offer either plated buffet style where kids help themselves or individual meal boxes for each child.

Your suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance:wubclub:

Kids always love pack up boxes! You can be as adventurous as you like in them and cater for allergy kids etc without them being singled out. Sarnies, sausages on sticks, sweet treats (agree with Lindsey - no fairy bread!!) and stick a small toy in there +/- a boxed drink and youre away! I think thats what im going to do for my kids parties next time!

I think help themselves are a good idea but depending on age little bags are also a good idea and of course the cost.

Some suggestions, Chocolate crackles, marshmallow rice cakes, sticks of carrot and cucumber, sultanas, sausage rolls, biscuits iced or not iced.

Good luck, fantastic idea

Sorry ...Fairy Bread is an Aussie Kid's party institution. You could however offer different bread bases for it. I think the box idea is good, but not all kids will eat the same thing. Perhaps have a menu per box that the kid or parent can decide what goes in if they choose the box idea. You could have a standard few items that all have then additions. Offer a buffet style too. My experience of parties is that not much food gets eaten anyway, cos kids are used to eating party food everyday nowadays. Sausage rolls and bite sized food seems to be the go.
