Well finally we are here!

We left the UK end of November and visited Singapore and NZ before heading down under. We were met at the airport by all of my family and friends with the kids waving big posters. We were so excited, lots of hugs and tears.

We had already booked 3 weeks accommodation at Homes Down Under and finally laying in a bed, and being in a house with furniture felt amazing (we had been camping in NZ for 3 weeks, and living in the UK for a month in an empty house and out of a suitcase). Settled in quickly mainly due to it being Christmas and family. We bought a car - OH trawled online and then we had an idea of what we wanted. Ended getting a Range Rover (ready for exploring). Friends and family had been checking out rentals for us while we were away, and we had spotted one that we wanted, but we couldn't make the viewing. Family checked it out for us, said it was nice so we submitted an application the afternoon we arrived. Due to xmas we had to wait a while but we found out we got the house. Will be in Birkenhead, just off Semaphore Road. Went to pay the bond, but they don't take cards so wizzing around to find a bank. That's all sorted, apart from the realestate advertising the wrong date online and we couldn't move in till later that expected. Thankfully Tamara and Shaun have been brilliant and managed to squeeze some extra days for is in one of their other rentals.

We've been unable to sort out medicare as we need to show them that we are staying, so need rental agreement and shipping docs. Reason being is that we've already been to Oz since the visa was granted 3 years ago.

Both of us job hunting, been told its quiet so expecting it to pick up over the next couple of weeks. Found the supermarkets fine (was worried with the cravings from Tescos for posters), but all OK. Got our drivers licences sorted, my photo has me with a bright red nose due to sitting out the day before.

We've always loved Adelaide, and we've seen quite a bit of Australia. So far weather has been lush. We have poms arriving from Brisbane tomorrow hoping for sunshine and no rain (oops). Taking this opportunity to drive around and explore. Drove along the coastline up to Selicks, so beautiful here. Yesterday we went to Fishermans Wharf market and watched the dolphin tours head out (jezz it was toasty warm).

So, there you go. Hoping for work, customs have cleared our container, move into new rental next week and settle into the aussie way of live. Bonza! :jiggy:

Hello! Singapore seemed to come and go. Rained a lot, humid and bad jetlag, but still a fab city. How you guys getting on? Settled, jobs etc. How fab is this weather. We left at just the right time before the snows hit the UK. Love to hear how your getting on. :chatterbox:
