careers advice pls!

Some recruitment agencies offer a careers advice and will look at your CV for you and tell you what you need to change. Part-time work is harder to get. My friend started with volunteering at a local hospital which led to a few hours paid work. It's all about networking. Register with www.linkedin.com and make connections with as many recruiters as possible. Network with as many groups as possible, such as Lions, Rotary, Church etc ... there may just be someone who knows someone looking for that perfect person which is YOU!

hi can anyone recommend a careers advisor pls!! 1 year on, still looking for perm pt work!!

Try the Careers Information Centre:

Freecall: 1800 662 736 or

Email: cic.adelaide@centrelink.gov.au

The Careers Information Centre is based on:

2nd floor south, 191 Pulteney Street,

Adelaide, SA, 5000.

It is part of Centrelink, but you do not have to registered with centrelink - it's a career's advice centre for EVERYONE!

They gave me excellent advice so it's worth trying them. Ring up for an appointment (it's by appointment only).

HTH!
