Hi guys after the success Of the 'Pommie Princesses' facebook group the girls have decided that it's the turn of you men to get to know each other So Tilly's OH has set up a group for you men ONLY. So whether you thinking of making the move to Adelaide or are already over there get your butt's on there!!!! why should us girls do all the hard work!!! remember your gonna need mates to go out for a beer with and with all the stuff the 'pommie princesses' have plannned if you don't make friends your gonna be stuck in baby sitting while we go out have fun, and you guys will be moaning then!! lol :biglaugh:https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_221346634553340&ap=1

Good on ya Tyke it will be good for them to get to know men out there already, I think my hubby is secretly pleased I made in join they should like they are having a good giggle on there, Jon isn't on PIA so he may have lots of questions for you when they finish putting together there escape plan for the princesses night out!! I think I heard something about leaving us and going on a pub crawl!! Lol

its not designed to draw people away form PIA at all. it's just most people seem to be on facebook and its a lot easier to chat to people on there than it is here. the more of you blokes there are over there the easier its going to make the move for everyone. or at least thats what us ladies think! head over to it and see what you think :)

As Tilly has said totally not designed to draw people away from PIA we all love this site but it's hard to chat and form friendships on a public forum I don't know about you but would you want all your personal details to be splash all over, I certainly wouldn't in this day and age, at least on fb you can join the group and chat with the guys on there and then if you wish to add them as friends you can but it is not necessary. It's a good idea to make new friends and this is giving you all a head start, it's one less thing to worry about with such a major move, I am personally so glad the girls did it we are getting to know each other in a way we never would on Here and are all having a great time getting to know each other, and now the move to the other side of the world does not seem so scary knowing I will have some great friends when I get out there. So that's the idea of facebook and it's working and we love it :)

Yes you can use FB to PM them ?

I dont see personally what you can do on FB ( bearing in mind FB sells your private info even tagged photo's) that you cant do here.

Just my personal opinion of course.

My take on it is this...

 

PIA is fab for asking questions & getting great answers from people who are in the same situation...

 

Facebook is great for becoming friends with people before you make the big move!!!

if you are that bothered then dont join. no one is trying to force you to. all we are saying is you can't form a proper friendship on PIA and facebook makes it a lot easier to do that. this is a forum for asking questions about the big move down under, facebook is a social network the operative word there being social. we want to socialise and its not easy to do that on here, especially as half the time you cant even see what the person you are talking to looks like, on facebook you have that. and you're opinion of facebook does seem to be rather warped. the only info that can be sold is that which you have made public, if all your pictures are private and everything else is too then all they can do is put your name out. like i say if you are that bothered by it all dont join it, but all we are trying to do is get the men we are going to emigrate with to talk to each other and make friends the way we have. i was terrified of the move, now i can't wait to meet up with all my new friends, and i want it to be like that for everyone. all the princesses do!

oh and just so you know a fair few of the members for the female one joined via facebook NOT through PIA. we put it on here to try and help the blokes out with talking to new people because it's only just started.

While some men aren't interested in Joining in and making friends (that's your prerogative) a lot are and have already joined the fb group.

As you can well see we are not taking people away from PIA we are still actively using it and will continue to do so :)

hi! it's my hubby thats started the group - he's not back from work for another few hours yet so if it takes a while for you to be accepted it just coz no one else seems to know they can add people! hope you men all get on now! after all the effort helene and i have put in trying to get you all talking! :)

 

helene totally best motto to have :)

I'm keen to join the group too but will still contunie using this site as it's always been really helpful. Just a point though, what about the chat room on here? Does it work the same way as chatting on FB or is it not so private? I guess it wouldn't be. Might be a way of chatting to people before commiting to becoming FB friends! I'll still join though!
