The Bacons leave the UK to emigrate to Adelaide on the 7th January (arrive in Adelaide on the 09th)

No where to live when we get there yet but a few possibles in the pipeline so not to worry just yet.

Hey guys we leave same day as u! We never bin to aus before so massive stabb in the dark for us! 5 weeks to go:). Our stuff goes on the ship tomorrow! All we have now is the doom and gloom of saying our goodbyes!

We are just sitting here surrounded by empty boxes and wondering where to begin. House completes on Friday and then a drive to wales to stay with friends. We have been on a recce back in April 2009 and Adeliade is a lovely place. Not to concerned about the doom and gloom part. Just want to be there now and start out new lives.

No way, you guys frighten me, our house just sold and in the hands of solicitors we dont to complete until on or around the day we leave. Lucky though the house sold within a month with three sets of buyers competing. seriously though you are cutting it well fine to get accommodation for reasonable money, they dont like letting houses unless your there. We have found via a new friend on here, a real estate agent with some fab properties, getting them is a different story. do you have anyone in Adelaide who can help, daft question really considering your predicament. we have taken into consideration, maui campervans, youth hostels and holiday parcs, the thing is its all big till, the last thing you need.. anyway check out http://www.professionals.com.au/

Hi, we have a couple of possible short term rentals in the pipeline but nothing concrete just yet. I wouldn't try to get a long term without seeing it first but looking on realestate there seem plenty around Aldinga Beech which is where we want to settle so I'm not to concerned about long term. If the worst comes to the worst it will be a hotel for a couple of weeks when we arrive.

Best of luck to all of you coming over. We spent afternoon in park having a bqq yesterday. Felt totally safe and the troubles we left behind in England a million miles away.

Yes its tough saying goodbyes and being away from loved ones but we love it here and i hope you guys will too.

Good luck all of you - not long till you'll be here enjoying the summer sun. We've been here in Adelaideexactly 2 months and just the last 2 weeks in our own house! Container ship due to dock today with our worldly goods on board so may have them by Christmas if they get through customs smoothly. Surviving on a few essentials and 'camping out' in style but loving every minute.
