Good news for Holden and associated companies.
10 years I guess anything could happen,I had a similar experience in the UK,10 years not really a long time couldn't easily make any long term financial commitments, many will be disappointed close to retirement no chance of a redundancy.
Unfortunately no such thing as a job for life.
Any adult poms around in the 70's and 80's would remember the turmoil in the British car industry as car companies mainly in the Midlands and Oxfordshire fought for survival in a marketplace which seemed to be over run with Japanese imports, any union has some bad members I guess like the British coal miners those guys often looked upon as militants were fighting for British owned companies and jobs, now it's Americas turn probably Japan next as the Chinese and Indian manufacturers move in [we like to say their cars are inferior,if it makes you happy keep saying it]
Alas I fear "the writing is on the wall"
Good luck GMH
