Just think what that Koala will get now, everyone in the whole world will want to cuddle that poor bear now because the the gods of teeny bop have held it. It probably wet itself with excitement.......

and on a serious note ............. YES it is dangerous to handle a koala. Friend of mine ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics for a couple of days, and with permanent scarring and nerve damage to his face after a koala attacked him.

 

 

 

Mind you his sick certificate was a classic ............... "KOALA ATTACK"

Koala's are worlds largest carrier of gonorrhea, When I was living on Hamilton Island on the Barrier Reef the vet up there told us to be careful as they also carry other diseases plus those claws do a lot of damage..lol

Don't wake them up for a cuddle - their claws are nasty and they'll use them when p#**@d off. Should be OK if their keeper is nearby but wash your hands and make sure you don't have any open wounds.

The only time I held a koala the horrid thing sneezed on me, koala snot in your hair is not nice!!!! :-(

Oh my! Such a funny thread! Koala attack, snot, chlamidia. Reminds me of this video:
