19th January 2013 - VH-OEF Positioning Flight.Boeing 747-438ER VH-OEH positioned Sydney - Adelaide as QF6163 this afternoon in order to operate an Antarctic Scenic Flight.

It's here to do the Phil Hoffmann Antartica Sightseeing Flight which is who I work for and trust me u r not the only person who has got a little bit giddy!!! Ive been hearing about it all week the plane is a big deal in adelaide apparently!! It leaves at 0600 tomorrow tho so if u want to see it that's a painfully early start for a Sunday!!!

I'd be more excited about a 787 to be honest. But they've been grounded.

What's the big deal? Sorry, genuine question, just not sure why the excitement? I remember running out to watch Concorde flying over our house when I was a kid as it used to fly into Birmingham airport occasionally. Is it the same sort of thing?

Singapore occasionally fly a 747 into Adelaide so they're not a show stopper. The real items of interest are rare planes such as the USAF B757 that brought Hillary Clinton into Adelaide a month or two back.
