At Last!!! We've Got Our Visas!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

 

Just wanted to share our good news that we were granted our skilled visa yesterday! Still can't quite believe we have got it at long last!

 

It has been a very slow and often frustrating process but we got there in the end!

 

Our house goes on the market next week so hopefully it won't be too long before we are booking our one way tickets to Adelaide!

 

Mixed reactions from close family. Some were hoping we weren't going to be successful...and yesterday's news hit them hard...so not everyone has been jumping up and down with joy!

 

Lets hope in a couple of years we can look back and say - YES - that was the best thing we ever did....fingers crossed!

 

So...hang in there everyone waiting for their visas or just starting out....good luck to you all!

I wish we were in your shoes and don't worry about family reactions I would say there are very little on here who have complete family support. My Mum In Law has opted to completely ignore the fact that we are applying for a visa

Congratulations! We lodged our visa at about the same time as you so hopefully we will have ours soon too (fingers crossed!)

 

Jan ’07 – Decided we wanted to go and live in Australia!

Feb ’07 – Teaching skills assessment sent off.

Apr ’07 – Teaching skills approved.

May 21st ’07 – Applied for South Australia sponsorship online.

July 12th ’07 – Received sponsorship from South Australia.

July 20th ’07 – Online visa application sent off.

Oct 30th ’07 – Case officer allocated.

Nov 20th ’07 – Medicals done and police checks sent.

Feb 18th ’08 – Medical done for our new baby.

Awaiting our visa ………………………………………………..

Hi all

 

Just wanted to say fab news and many congratulations to you all. Hope all goes well with selling the house. We are waiting for our Visa, started process Jan 07 everything is now in Sydney with our case officer, so fingers crossed.
