Hi

Hi believe you can drive with a UK licence for 3 months? How do you go about applying for an SA licence and what does it involve?

its easy, you just take your uk licence along to a SA service centre, there are a few around i think but definately one at marion, pay the fee, fill in the form, they will take your photo. They will give you a proof slip to carry until your licence arrives in the post.

and be very careful wot you say on the form or you will be having a medical..... more $ ...too. Its down to the person behind the counter, to decide if asthma for example.... needs a doctors letter for you to drive.

oh and you pay for your licence here.. the longer the licence the more bucks...

The 3 month rule depends on your visa type and if your licence is written in English.

if you are on PR you have 3 months. T.R. and business do not need an australian licence if their current licence is written in English. But need to convert when / if P.R. Is granted.
