A survey has found the cost of essential groceries has risen in most capital cities, while in some regional communities the price has dropped.ABC Local reporters priced a common basket of grocery items at major supermarkets in 21 locations across the nation and compared the results to a similar survey in 2009.Adelaide recorded the survey's most expensive basket of groceries, with a total of $93.33, $15 more than in 2009.Here is the complete link.http://au.finance.yahoo.com/news/survey-finds-city-grocery-prices-201801689.html

I am shocked that shopping in the Isa is cheaper than Adelaide it just doesn't make sense. I know furniture is more expensive in Cairns than Melbourne. We looked at a sofa with Harvey Norman and it cost $400 more in Cairns than the HN in Melbourne :frown:
