      Been a bit of a week for Australia

      And not a good one in terms of wildlife and environment.

      Since we can't vote we don't have any say but I still think it's not great that this week has seen the start of drum lines being used to catch sharks over in WA and then today approval has been granted to allow the dumping of dredge spoil up on the Great Barrier Reef. Not really sure how Australia can hold it's head up internationally when it allows things like this to happen along it's magnificent coast.

      It doesn't sound good.


      Ironic that the port to be used is called Abbot Point. Tony said the country is 'open for business'.
      Backpacked round Australia 1992. Married Australian husband in Adelaide 1994. Lived in Adelaide 1994-1997. Moved back to UK & lived in Essex/Herts 1997-2009. Returned to Adelaide November 2009. 2 kids dual nationality.
