One week in.......

Hi all , well what a mad week it has been after getting over the jet lag which took about 4 to 5 days we settled into rushing around buying a car . First tip try to have some kind of idea what you want before getting here as the market is very different to the uk........we settled for a ford Territory not full on 4x4 but will give us something to play with on the beaches . Getting your tax reference no's is easy as it can be done on the internet , activating our bank accounts at westpac was also very easy and we now have our bank cards (now jac can go shopping....ahhh) .We have managed to get a rentel in Noarlunga Downs in a brand new house on the Point development not big but good enough for the first year , we did go to a few more opens but good clean rentels are not that easy to come by but they are out there so just be patient . Land ....depending on what you are looking for there is not as much land available as you might think and it is a case of maybe getting onto a waiting list as some developers do or just wait for the next release and its first come first serve.

Schools...we have been to Seaford and Moana so far and are off to Port Noarlunga today , they are all VERY different to the uk , they seem very relaxed and the children looked happy , and every schools values are towards Caring , Communication , Honesty , Respect and Co-operation.......ect its now clear why the uk is becomming like it is .... schools there dont have these basic values its all about targets.......???? .

The whole area is clean , there are no groups af kids hanging around bored ,even in the city you feel safe (although iam sure there are some rough areas) ,everyone is going about there daily life at a slower pace , you will never believe how easy it is to get things done ....no fuss and a friendly face around every corner .

Australia is not paradise .....but the reasons why we are all coming here, are here for sure when its sunny ( and its rained on and off for days now...ahhhh) its a great place to be the beaches are fantastic , the people are friendly , and we are 100% sure its a better place to bring up the kids .

Dont think the move is easy....its a massive jump....we have lots of hard work ahead of us and there will be some tears along the way (and there has) but take on one job at a time be patient and although its early days .........we think we is going to like it here......

Still looking forward to meeting up with some Pia members over here as so far haven't had the time

Cheers Graham ,Jacqui ,Holly & Owen

P.S Keith and Sarah we owe you forever may we stay friends for a very long time.....thankyou

Good news on the rental, good luck with the moving in...chaos but fun!

Have you decided on a schhol? We've signed Mags into Moana, she loved it on her tour round, insisted on buying her uniform there and then...best bit of it is that its only a 5minute walk for me ;) and lil man is already at the kindy next door.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you.
