Suggestions for a good resturant in the city - maybe close to north terrace??

So we've got a babysitter! (this is pretty epic for us!) and we're off out a week on saturday. Its my hubbys birthday so we'd like to go eat at a place that's a dead cert to be good. Does anyone have suggestions - we like all kinds of food but perhaps Mediterranean inspired might be nice, we're pretty much gluten-free (so no Pizza places!).

For Greek Eros on East end of Rundle is good. nice atmosphere round there on a Saturday Night too.

 

Mediteranean funky go for Casa Bla Bla on an alley off Hindley Street, maybe not as nice a walk to it but there are some chic places just off Hindley now. They do a real mix of Middle Eastern and European stuff. tapas or meals. Never had a bad one yet.

The Boathouse is excellent, but a tad pricey.

hubby works at Cos on Leigh Street next door to Casa Bla Bla and it's a lovely and lively spot on a Saturday night - they specialise in good steaks and share plates and have a nice wine list - I may be slightly bias tho :-)

Peel St and Rigonnis also in the same area as theses mentioned above. Parlamento a bit cheaper and less fancy.

My picks for 'guaranteed great' in the city are Georges on Waymouth, (modern Australian, in Entertainment book, makes it a bit cheaper), Mesa Lunga (Spanish/Tapas) on Gouger Street or Andre's Cucina (Italian) on Frome st - Andre's have a great 'let us feed you' menu that is $55ish (maybe $59?) per head. All three are fabulous and I'd be surprised if you didn't love any of them! However, I would call tomorrow to make a booking at any of these three.

 

Alternatively Cos on Leigh Street does the best steak in Adelaide in my opinion and there are lots of quirky new bars on Peel and Leigh Street if you wanted to have some drinks too. enjoy!
