Well hi guys at last we have the internet.......well not sure how but just got a shout from owen saying " dad iam on the internet " "yeh right i replied" , at that point he came running in with the laptop "here look " .........we bloody ell he's right . It looks like our laptop has picked up someone elses signal so.....shhhhhhhhhhhh.......

Well all is good here in Noarlunga Downs , we have been in our rentle for 3 weeks now a brand new 3 bed house on the land side of the Point development , its all a bit of a building site at the moment but we weighed that up with a older house in not so good condition and went with this .

The kids have been in school for 3 weeks now and are loving it , they have settled VERY well , they have loads of new buddies and love everything about their new school .

As for us we are finding everything very easy (not sure if somtimes a little to easy) , everyone and everything seems to be made easy to do ...ie filling in forms ....connecting to gas ...electric , everyone is very helpfull and there is no fuss:D We have met up with a few others from the forum but not loads yet as we have been to busy.

We are still undecided as to weather the cost of things are more than the uk overall and seeing as none of us are working yet its hard to say , yes some things are dearer but somethings are cheeper .And although many items are going up here so is the uk , so the gap between the two is still there for sure , everyone here is saying about the huge cost of fuel at $1.55 ish but hang on in the uk its £1.20 i believe..? so the gap is still there.!!.

We feel we have all settled in very well and as of yet have no regrets although we know its very early , forget missing marmite and helmans mayo ...get a life:p we're not comming here to be english , we're here to fit in to Australia , so the shop that sells English food ....i coulden't give a stuff where it is , and do we miss the soaps....get a life:p i dont care , we pick the kids up from school and go for a walk on the beach or in the Onkapringa river reserve before tea instead .

That might upset a few people but if you are really going to miss thoese stupid things how are you going to feel about missing the things that count.....??.

The city is a great place to visit and a night in the casino is something else , PLEASE ignore any talk about the suburbs you must come here and find out for yourselfves , what sutes one does not suit another, (after all i see someone said "avoid Noarlunga Downs" well :P we love it...!! Adelaide (Australia is not paradise) but it IS friendlier ,cleaner , safer , and a dam lot bettler than blighty .

All these comments are our findings so if anyone wants to sue....as they say over here.....No Worries.....Cheers Graham....its good to be back....!!!!!!

Nice to hear you are settling down well.

I think a good point is raised about reviews of suburbs being down to personal opinion. Furthermore I don't think anyone should be criticised for what they say about those suburbs, as long as in the process no rude comments are made about the residents.

Always great to hear people are settling in well, good luck to you all. Hope we get over soon, September is the aim, if the nice decision man pulls his finger out and we sell the house of course!

Just thought I would update you on the cost of fuel. I saw Diesel the other day at £1.35 per litre!!!!!!!!!!!
