People love to drive on the beach so they can have all their stuff with them. Some of the set ups I have seen are amazing! I did not realise you could get so much stuff in one car! BBQ, large esky, tent, table, chairs.
Aldinga,Sellicks and Silver Sands are easy to drive along, might just be a bit chewed up on the entrance as it has had a lot of traffic.
Momentum is everything in soft sand, keep moving until on firm sand.
Rules very much apply to drive on beaches, 10k p/h limit I think. Drive on beaches have the same status as any public highway - cop cars do drive up and down to keep an eye on proceedings. I have seen a cop car with a radar sneakily tucked away.
Local council Rangers patrol as well.
It can all turn into a big party if a few are parked together .
You have to be a sociable animal at peak times.
Other times on a decent weekday you can nearly have the place to yourself.
I fish these beaches and am normally not bothered during the week.
