Blimey the news is rather crummy this week

The news this week has been interesting an, if you are me at least, rather depressing reading on many occasions. Also a few other snippets.

The emissions 'cut' target. Meh Australia. Really really really crap. I really do not like this love affair with coal that the current Gov seems to have. That is as far as I get into politcal discussion :cute:http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-33858360

The conscience vote not being allowed by the politicians. Another meh from me. Will Aussies get to vote? http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/samesex-marriage-australians-may-have-to-go-to-the-polls-three-times-in-four-years-20150812-gixa4r.html

The Australian cricket team. O dear. Its been interesting in our house as its usually me the English person in the marriage having to watch England collapse. The shoe on the other foot meant for some mirth and merriment from my side this time. Twitter had a field day. Made watching that drubbing far more fun. - http://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/the-ashes

During one of my rare forays into Australian TV watching I stumbled across an episode of Upper Middle Bogan last night. I'm undecided. I think Kath and Kim did it better. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/programs/upper-middle-bogan/

And this interesting (well I think so given we are probably still in a drought here in SA and around Aus and many reseviors are nowhere near full) SA water website showing you the resevoirs levels and comparing to last year etc. https://www.sawater.com.au/community-and-environment/our-water-and-sewerage-systems/water-sources/reservoir-data

And I like the purple pipe thing for recycled water. https://www.sawater.com.au/community-and-environment/our-water-and-sewerage-systems/water-sources/recycled-water

Umm yeah

I can agree on most things but not Upper Middle Bogan; it makes me laugh on that's enough :) A bit like Utopia, which is coming back next week I think.

I like being in the not able to vote category because I find politicians here to be very immediate - what impact will this or that have on me and my chances for sliding in somewhere when I'm finished here... not too many long-term thinkers out there.

I enjoyed it but apart from one or two moments where I laughed out loud, the rest was amusing but not gut ache funny. Perhaps it was a slow episode. I'll watch it again as I live in hope of a dodgy mullet and highlights

And yeah, I like not having a vote in one way, in another I can't wait till I have that right and be able to really voice an opinion on the Aussie and state Government. I tend to sit on the sidelines and am often incredulous at the way they are running the country/state. Australia voted for them though :dull:
