TDU Family Fun and Participation
South Australia’s roads and regions are gearing up for the Santos Tour Down Under and in 2016 there is an even greater focus on family fun and participation. For the first time parents and children of any age can ride together in the Bupa Family Ride on Sunday 17 January. It will take place on the People’s Choice Classic circuit around Rymill Park from 1pm. The Bupa Mini Tour for Kids returns this year, but it’s not only about the action on track. There are street parties every night of the event and the Santos Festival of Cycling includes the Team Presentation and concert with ARIA award winner Jessica Mauboy on Saturday 16 January, the Subaru Tour Parade before each stage and Family Day on Sunday 24 January. 50 Days to go until Clipsal 500 takes to the streets of Adelaide
There are just 50 days to go until four days of high octane racing come to Adelaide. With eight race categories including V8 Supercars, Dunlop Series, Porsche Carrera Cup, V8 Utes, Australian GT, Stadium Super Trucks, Touring Car Masters and Aussie Racing Cars, the four day event is jam packed. Get down to the track during the day to catch all the action and head to the concerts at night to celebrate the event. Summer of Sport in South Australia
Major events and world-class competition is expected to inject more than $120 million into the state’s visitor economy over the next three months. Record number of interstate visitors travelling to SA
Interstate visitors travelling to South Australia are at an all-time high with 2.1 million visits, up 15.9 per cent in the 12 months to September 2015. South Australia attracted 5.7 million domestic overnight visitors which is an increase of 7.7 per cent and above the national growth rate of 7 per cent. Adelaide Oval to host 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier
On March 24 2016, Adelaide will play host to the Socceroos as they take on Tajikistan at the Adelaide Oval in a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game. The game will be broadcast to a huge national audience on Fox Sports and SBS and to football fans in Asia. Over 11,000 tickets were sold in the first 48 hours of sales for the much anticipated game.
