Day Trip to Brisbane!

Hubby has a chance of a trip to Brisbane through work, he can fly back whenever he wants the next day, is it worth him catching a later flight back the next day or just coming back to Adelaide asap? Is there much to see, or is it not enough time to really see anything?

Duh!!! As late a flt as possible. There's a train from the city centre to the airport direct. Some nice bars & restaurants along the river & a man-made beach too so take swimmies!

We visited Brisbane last summer (2007) and found it worth a visit. The town centre is nice and worth a look. We did a great boat ride up the river to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. I would recommend the river trip even if you don't get off at the other end. It's a really quirky journey with a prerecorded message that made everyone laugh it was so corny. Sometimes the boat was a bit too slow or fast and the commentary didn't always keep up with the scenery! We loved it. The scenery was great and you also got to see some of the houses in the suburbs. You can buy a sandwich and drinks on board. The boat leaves from one of the river pontoons within easy walk of the town centre. We'd do it again. It's also the sort of thing a chap on his own would find interesting.
