Public transport - good or bad???
We are fairly new to the site, but have been reading fairly regularly and have managed to get loads of really helpful information.
We are just waiting for the SA sponsorship to be agreed - which should hopefully be in the next week or so.
We're really excited about the move but will probably have loads of questions over the next few months - so apologies in advance!!;)
I was just wondering what the bus and train systems in Adelaide are like? I'm presuming they are better than the UK:D? Are they air conditioned? Are the rail links good from the suburbs into the centre? We were thinking of living in the South part of Adelaide and wondered if anyone could give us a rough idea of how long the commute would be?
Hi Vicks and Stu
Missed you joining as I have been offline for a bit so a belated welcome to PIA :)
We live in Port Noarlunga South and have used some of the public transport since we arrived. It is very good, clean, reliable and reasonably priced. Depending on which suburb you may have to use the bus and train or just the bus from the south to get to the city as the trainline stops at Port Noarlunga.
You can see prices, timetables and more info etc on the Adelaide Metro website which covers bus, train and tram so hopefully this link will help you out - http://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/ ;)
We have been offline for a while. Thanks it's good to know - do you know if thebus are air conned?

You can even leave your push bike at the interchange in a lock up shed, for free
