Public holidays over xmas period

Hiya,

 

What's the chances of us getting anything organised between xmas and New Year in Adelaide? I'd still like to use the time wisely when we get there and file for Tax Numbers all that sort of thing.

 

Does everything shut during this period? if it does..when does it shut and for how long roughly?

Hello (again)!!

 

TFN can be done on line when you get here and will take around 2 weeks to be issued, its actually quicker this way then applying by post.

Medicare is open between christmas and new year just like shops in UK are and once you are sorted with your TFN you can then go on to apply for Family assistance.

Public holidays for gov departments are Christmas day, Boxing day, Sat and Sun and New yrs day. Don't forget Christmas and Boxing day this year are followed snappily by Sat and Sun, but shops will be open.
