What to send a sick child?

Some good friends of ours who live in QLD have just found out that their 5yr old child has to undergo chemo for a tumour on her kidney. I'd like to send her a get well gift, using the internet. Can anyone suggest some good websites and what to send her?

Things she can play with in bed. DVDs . CDs for when she is too unwell to feel like watching TV. Some funky / pretty hats.

Hi there

It depends really on how much you want to spend, I would suggest story cd's, dvds or the Leapster Max console and games that have kept them amused for hours, they aren't cheap but well worth the money and although they are portable games consoles' most of the games have some educational undertones!

Most cancer wards are well stocked with donated games machines. The starlight foundation do a really good job. So yeah anything that can be handled in bed, even sticking, crafty stuff. It just depends on how she goes with the chemo, it really knocks some kids flat. They get sore , ulcers in their mouths, cranky etc. Perhaps pop in something for the parents aswell, like a basket of nibbles cos most parents don't take enough breaks and need some TLC.
