Noticed this fire on the school run this afternoon:

The CFS advises that a fire at Onkaparinga Gorge, Onkaparinga Hills near Piggott Range Road and Pennys Hill Road poses a threat to public safety.

The ONKAPARINGA HILLS fire is travelling in a Northerly direction towards Piggott Range Road

Smoke and burning embers may threaten your safety and property. You should wear protective clothing.

Activate your bushfire action plan.

Firefighters are attending to this fire.

Stay tuned to this radio station on a battery powered radio for more information, or call the CFS Bushfire Information Hotline on 1300 362 361.

Tyke and others living in the area, I hope you're safe and well and not affected by this latest fire.

Thanks for thinking of us.

It's right at the back of us,hopefully the wind does not turn:arghh:

Can smell it in the house.

Loads of emergency vehicles and choppers flying around.

The Gorge is a really serious fire risk.

Lea who posts in here is very near it too.

Whats it like outside today Tyke I imagine its a bit of a mess, we saw the fire's on the news last night looks scary.

Julie

No evidence here at all, further up the hill it will be a mess.

The pool was covered in a thin film of ash.

I'll have a drive by later on.

Expecting to see a little more wildlife down here from the National Park looking for food.
