My oz theme tune

I looked out over the ocean and i just had this huge wave of happiness wanted to cry happy tears

Lovely song but the original version of it has been used so much on TV in the UK as a soundtrack to football so it reminds me of slow-motion footage of goals being scored!!

 

When I first went to Australia backpacking in December 1991 my parents sent me a $50 note in a Christmas card, so I went out and bought myself the cheapest walkman I could get at the time (we are talking cassettes) and I had enough money left to buy U2s latest album, Achtung Baby.

 

I played and played that album through many long hours on coach journeys all through NSW, Victoria, SA, NT and Queensland, in the outback where there was no radio reception, so it always reminds me of Australia (not Berlin!).

For me my Oz song is by a dance outfit called 4 Strings the tune is called Take Me Away, its one of my favs from way back, the words are amazing...i even managed to find it on our plane from yUK to Changi...
