Hi all, just come back of perth (activated our visas we are moving to adelaide when the house has sold) and whilst unpacking our clothes a spider dropped out, now ive searched the internet for aussie spiders and cannot find anything

Please help as its still alive and we dont know what to do with it

It's a very fat and pale spider..............:P

 

Sorry ,could not resist.

 

It's probably not a huge risk to you - but treat with a little care.

 

There are species of spider that have not even been discovered here yet!!!

 

If you are careful - I'd try and get it into ventilated bottle.

Call the Natural History museum and ask if they can help identify it.

 

Might name it after you if not discovered......."Carolandcraigiusspiderus" ?

how big is it? id kill it to be on the safe side, looks like a baby spider still with its egg shell or it could be a crab spider

 

Its only small but i used the macro to enlarge it to give more chance of identification,

 

i phoned the enviromentle health at the local council who are going to collect it and send it away for identification so hopefully will find out in the near future and will post up what it is for curiosities sake.
