What a week!!!

What an interesting first week in my new job. Day one was spent with a long lunch and a couple of beers with the new boss.

 

Then Friday was the Xmas party...got very messy but had a great afternoon/night and met loads of Aussie's who were stoked that they'd met a fellow Liverpool fan.

 

However, Friday was dampened by the news that all our furniture etc that was due to arrive that day was now not ESTIMATED to arrive until the 14th December....then with the up to 10 working days for customs clearance etc....it could be after the Xmas holidays before we get any of our stuff!!!!

 

We're going to be getting the keys on our great house on Wednesday and will have a borrowed cot for Poppy (thanks Shaun & Gillian) and the new bed we bought for Lexie (glad we went for a double instead of the bunk bed)....at least we'll have a bar fridge....

 

Not sure what we're going to do about the friends we've got coming over for Xmas....or the fact that we'll not have a sofa, TV, table and chairs, iron or all the other usual stuff...don't really want to go and spend money on all that stuff...the whole purpose of shipping it over was so we didn't have to do that......not a happy chappie.

Great to hear the work front is going well - typical week I'd reckon!

 

Shame you have the worry of the container,they do seem a little slow at the moment.

 

I'd really be trying for the sympathy vote there !!

Remember it's not the bloke you speak to here that caused the delay though - get him onside.

Could possibly loan you a tv, maybe kettle and an iron, I,m sure there will be some others who could loan you other things, were a pretty decent bunch, drop us a pm if we can help.

Zoe (the wife) is giving them a call on Monday.....the violins will be playing in the background....hopefully the boat catches a strong following wind and gets in earlier than the 14th....and that the guys in customs are keen to rush things through so they don't have a backlog after christmas...here's hoping anyway.

 

We'll see how that chat goes first...but might just take you up on your off Lol63.

Not sure what you already have.... we have bedding we can lend if that is any use? Duvets, sheets, pillows, pillowcases... no beds though!
