Looking for a nice Italian restaurant in the central area

We're looking for a nice Italian restaurant in the central area - about 10kms around the CBD. Has anyone been to a nice one?

Gusto in Norwood

Rigoni's in the CBD just off Currie St, headed down to the train station

This is easy! But depends how much you want to spend. Auge restaurant on Grote Street (opposite Coles) is by far the best. It actually won not only SA restaurant of the year but also 'best italian in Australia' late last year. For a cheaper eat - I can't remember it's name but the Italian round the corner half way down Rundle Street next to Cibo has the Italian status of Ying Chow which is saying something!!

My favourite is Chianti Classico in Hutt Street

It's a bit on the pricey side but good for a special occasion.

Without any hesitation I would reccommend Barendoe on Hutt Street, wonderful food, great staff and not overly priced for a CBD restaurant.

Brunelli's on Rundle Street.

 

We have been several times now and have always had good food.

 

We went on Sunday for lunch and it was almost full but the service was stil good, lots of Italians eating there. The pizza's are very good. It's a really good place to go with children.

Parisi in King William Road, Hyde Park is scrummy (about 5 mins from CBD). Their Dad owns La Trattoria in KW St (near Victoria Sq) which is good too.

Martini in Norwood is fabulous - great chef called Larry - but on the more expensive side

La Tombola Italian Restaurant on Unley Road, Parkside is v good. Always a lot of people there eating and drinking.
