Wow - I've been moaning about clothes for months now!
I've had a heap of stuff delivered from the UK - especially underwear as they don't make my size over here
Found a few bits for work in Jaquie-E, Portmans and Espirit, cue used to be ok before it got weird.
I miss next too. It's not all bad though - you can do internet shopping - so the shopping spree without having to carry all those bags!
Everyone tells me that Melbourne is much better - so grab yourself a cheap virgin blue flight over there...
Take a trip to the city , there is some lovely clothes shops there, but it depends on the individual, and age wise what your looking for....rundal mal [i think this is what its called]well it was a couple of wks since i was there ,just outside the train station,it was very very busy, but i cud have spent a couple of hundred bucks, and that was just window shopping...
happy shopping elaine x
BRFC , u are not moaning my darling just voicing your opinion !!!
Have you tried Myers ?
The kids clothes are good quality and design. Last week they had 30% off all kids clothes so very reasonable. I bought a velour tracksuit for my 8 yr old and it was $38 with the 30% off, thats about £22/£24, I would have paid that in the uk and more and it looks fab.
I have bought clothes and foorwear for myself and hubby from Myers but always buy in the sale or when an offer is on (which is most weeks for the offers), I have had some great bargains. Yes I would say we are a season behind the uk. I went back in Oct 09 and filled our case's and more ! I would go back every year if we could afford.
I do still have clothes sent over from the uk, lucky as my sister works for Next but it does take time to find the better shops.
We don't have lots of spare cash but I think quality over quantity for us wins everytime. I can not waste my money on cheap tat, just because I don't live in the uk anymore does not mean I have to buy only from Australia.
As a family the economy has had and gets enough from us !

spent 4 hours at marrion on saturday looking for oh mens black shoes what a carry on
cheep and really naff or really expensive ones.nothing for middle of the range
ended off buying some at the local shopping center paying more than we ever would in the uk
so to you all back in the uk fetch as much as you possibly can
The mens clothing shops seem to be better here but the womens are very drab and boring.
The surf shops seem to be the best but then you are paying the high prices.
As I am 5ft 11ins I had big problems finding trousers long enough back in the UK, so if anybody knows of any specialist tall shops I would be very grateful.
I am so glad i have seen this post.
