Swimming pools

Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section.

Just looking in the garden, we may have enough space to have one of those inflatable swimming pools with a metal frame (12ft). I'm thinking it would be great for the kids in summer.

Does anyone know if there are any rules that apply to having one of these pools. It would only be up for say summer holidays and most probably be collapsed when kids go back to school.

Any info would be great as I have seen one on sale and really want to buy it this weekend.

Thanks

Prema

I think you need to contact your local council and ask them for the regulations regarding fencing and I think you need to get permission to fill it.

Hello

You will need to speak to your local council / planning department. Legislation came into force in 2008 stating pools, regardless if they are inflatable or in ground pools, of a certain depth and width need a fence around them / safety locks on windows etc.We put a pool up on advice we were allowed to but found out we could not so had to take it down.

Also you may need a licence to fill it.

If renting check as well with the landlords, the majority will let you put one up but its best to check
