on sunday just gone we had landed in this land down under and its gone so fast yet seems a lifetime ago that we lived and worked in the uk waiting for the visa.

Well so far it has been a bundle of joy and ''too easy'' ........................Not! but we still wouldnt return to the UK.

A year ago we couldnt see any light at the end of a very long tunnel for years which would see us securing a future here with not much money brought over and with that my OH would find ANY sort of job but he did (although working 50 hrs a week for 38 hrs pay wasnt the greatest) and i reduced my 3 part time jobs to fit around the kids to only 2.

well i then uped my jobs back upto 3 again so we could get a mortgage(thanks to (Andrew Williams) and our own little house should be ready in a couple of weeks.:jiggy:

My kind of extras are like a packet of paxo with a roast dinner or OH's is take out on cheap tuesday which rarely happen these days with building and renting = 0 money.

Our eldest settled well within the first couple of months and our youngest took a fair while longer and there were times I felt guilty about what we had done but he is happy and settled now and enjoys this life. My youngest couldnt swim at all till we arrived here and can swim fantastic now.

We have had our fair share of visiters already and more to arrive in two weeks - my brother who ive not seen since we left my mother in law again early next year and hopefully my mum and dad will return march time next year.

We didnt for one minute think that moving to the other side of the world was going to be easy practially or emotionally but we didnt think that it would have been such a effort for the smallest of everyday things but now we can see light at the end of that tunnel for the time being and we are slowly but surely making it.People who know us know how much bad luck we have had with jobs/cars/illness and everything else in between but what doesnt kill you makes you stronger and we are surviving.People have it worse some have it easier.

We have made some fantastic friends and the spring/summer months are great weather to enjoy great company and will be making more time to drink more wine with them once we've slowed down a bit.

Now this year 3 has begun and our aim is to start enjoying what we have accomplished so far and plan even further.

Thankyou to all who have not let me give up and given me a kick up the *ss when feeling defeated and made us smile when we are feeling down. :notworthy:

if you want something bad enough anyone can do it........

Thanks for all your kind replies and yeah it will all come good in the end and there will definately be wine flowing when that happens but hopefully no walls will be put through lolx just keep me off the vodka even if it IS on special :biglaugh:

I will be feeling sorry for the neighbours once we are settled in to the new house and the socialising starts for the pre summer months with the street starting to be completing nicely x.

Optimisum and great friends (old and new) goes a long way on this journey of a new australian life.
