travel insurance to the uk

im off back to the uk mid sept for a few weeks holiday, is it worth me taking out travel insurance?

Always worth getting some trip cancellation/interruption and medical (repat you to Oz if you end up ill/incapacitated). Check out ACE and also give Flight Centre a ring (they tend to be able to beat other prices). Shouldn't cost you much over $100.

We did, flew via Singapore with the long stopover on the way back and just thought we best ?

Went with Mutual Community and found them the best on price and policy.

I found the Flight Centre travel insurance way too expensive. I got insurance on the internet with Travel Insurance Direct. Didn't need it but it was reassuring to know I had it.

another daft question but i dont have a uk bank account anymore, whats the best way of bringing money over or will it cost a fortune to use my debit card?

if you booked with a credit card, see if that covers the insurance.
