help!!!

tring to swap over a light fitting,took the old one down and there are 2 red wires one black and the earth, mmmmm the other one i done only had a red and a black and the earth!!!

any advice???

One red goes to the switch, one goes to positive. You need to connect the switch one, it can sometimes be a separate cable with just one red cable and a white sheath. Good luck!

the permanent live loops around the house generally (well in my experience) but you defo need to connect the switch live to red, neutral black and green earth.
