BBQ & garden furniture ??
Hello, back with more questions, got word on friday that we've secured a rental so to get us right in to the Australian lifestyle we need a BBQ and outside table and chairs and my questions are.......
Where should we go to buy a BBQ? and where would be best place to go for garden furniture - table and chairs?
Thanks
Derek

BBQ, you'll be wanting one of these then! NEW S/STEEL BBQ BARBECUE GRILL GAS OUTDOOR KITCHEN SET - eBay BBQs, BBQs, Cookware, Outdoor Living, Home. (end time 15-Aug-10 19:00:56 AEST)
Or in a month or so Bunnings will have everything you need. Be carefull of the specialist shops for the outdoor furniture, they rip you off.

For BBQs.....There is a shop called Barbecues Galore Barbeques Galore - BBQ Better - Australia's leading retailer of bbqs, outdoor furniture, outdoor heating, wood heating and bbq accessories. but also check out places like Bunnnings, Stratco, Mitre 10 (hardware shops dotted all over) and also the department stores - KMart, Big W and Target. These latter often have great offers and discounts as well - if you get the weekly junk mail have a browse through those. There are also camping shops around that sell them. It's a matter of visiting lots of places and comparing prices of what you want (then haggling down the price of the one you choose!!)
For outdoor furniture, it depends if you want something good that will last, or functional that can be replaced with something better down the line. Again KMart, Big W and Target are worth a look, and the hardware shops, but for very cheap and cheerful, check out places like Cheap as Chips and Sam's Warehouse. We got our wooden outdoor set from a place on Anzac Highway (Casual Living I think) and there is also Le Cornu down there.
Sorry it's such a scattergun approach, but definitely check out the department stores first, and if you want something more special, try the specialists!
Marion Shopping Centre, or Tea Tree Plaza for the dept. stores. For the others: There's a big complex of furniture and outdoor type shops at Mile End (off Sir Donald Bradman Drive to the west of the city), lots of furniture places alog Anzac Highway (south west of the city) and another complex at Gepps Cross (Main North Road, north of the city) ......and I'm sure some south too that someone else might be able to suggest.
I can only be nice to one person each day....today is NOT your turn...and tomorrow isn't looking too hopeful either.

If your lucky Big W and or K Mart will have a sale on, as far as i know they haven't had it yet. You can pick BBQ up at half price.
Have a good look at how many burners you will actually need, the gas goes pretty fast when you have everything going, but they are handy when you have friends or neighbours round!
Rays outdoors can do deals on outside furniture.
Remember to haggle

Garden furnitures are good at houses that have gardens. Barbeque furnitures I think costs much because its not easy to make these furnitures. I have one barbeque furniture, and I bought like a thousand box.

They will deliver - its not like the UK where you have to wait weeks. When we first arrived we bought our barbie and table and chairs from KMart - we were so surprised when they delivered the same day - we only got back to the house about 5 mins before the delivery guy - wasn't too expensive either.
